How to choose a GEO or SEO agency.
Most "best GEO agency" lists are published by an agency that appears on them, usually first. This page is the other kind. Eight questions to ask, then a list of agencies described by what their own pages say, with the date we checked. Relay is on it, in its own slot, with the same treatment.
Eight questions to ask before you sign.
1. "Will you sell me llms.txt, chunking, AI-specific schema or seeded mentions?" Google's own guide says you do not need the first three, and that seeking inauthentic mentions is not as helpful as it might seem. An agency that lists any of them as a deliverable is selling you something Google has already said you do not need. Ask, and watch for the pause.
2. "How many times do you run each prompt before you report a number?" One run has a confidence interval of roughly −22% to +122%. Seven is where the standard error drops below 0.10. If the answer is "once" or "the tool handles it", the number is a coin flip.
3. "Does your AI-visibility tool sample the real interface or an API, and will you put that in the report?" Google states that "no third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems." A share-of-voice number without its sampling method is decoration.
4. "What is the source under this number?" Point at any statistic on their site. A good agency names the study, the sample and the date without looking it up. A number from a tool vendor should be labelled as one.
5. "Who do you work best with?" The best agencies publish an answer. Siege Media states a company fit of 50+ employees or $5 million in revenue or funding. Victorious names a $10 million ARR minimum. An agency that will take anyone has no method that depends on who you are.
6. "What happens if nothing moves?" Listen for a term and an exit. That alone tells you who carries the risk. Month-to-month with a progress clause is the rarer answer.
7. "Can I see what you did this week without asking?" A work log you can open, tied to the numbers, and a written update on a fixed day. Then: owner-level access to GA4, Search Console and the ad accounts, in your own name, from day one. If the accounts are theirs, so is your history.
8. "Where is the case study expressed in the number I care about?" Clients rank conversions first and traffic last among the metrics that matter, and most agency proof is traffic. Ask for one case in enquiries, leads or revenue. If they have none, ask them to say so, and give credit if they do.
Agencies, by what their own pages say.
Facts below are taken from each agency's own site, on the date given. Prices are as published by them; most agencies publish none. This is not a ranking. If a fact is wrong, tell us and we will correct it with the date of the correction.
Graphite · graphite.io · checked 16 Sep 2026 "A Research Driven Growth Agency." Named case studies with numbers, press coverage of its own research. No published prices. Best fit if you are a category-leading technology company that wants a research franchise built around you.
iPullRank · ipullrank.com · checked 16 Sep 2026 Enterprise. Sells a named methodology, Relevance Engineering, and an AI Search Strategy Program published at $15,000 a month on six-month engagements. Deep technical bench; the right call for a large site with an engineering team on the client side.
Siege Media · siegemedia.com · checked 2 Sep 2026 Content-led, now positioned on GEO. Publishes a fit rule: 50+ employees or $5 million in revenue or funding, twelve-month contracts with a sixty-day exit. Its own research assets and a large body of published work.
Omniscient Digital · beomniscient.com · checked 2 Sep 2026 B2B software. States that engagements start at $10,000 a month. Publishes original research on how LLMs source brand information. Founder-led thought leadership.
Optimist · yesoptimist.com · checked 2 Sep 2026 B2B technology, seed to IPO. Publishes its ladder: a free opportunity report, a $7,500 roadmap, advisory from $3,000 a month, full service from $4,000 a month. Runs on a founder and a freelance collective, practitioners on every call.
Powered by Search · poweredbysearch.com · checked 2 Sep 2026 B2B SaaS, Series B and later, $25K+ ACV. Publishes tiers at $9,000, $14,400 and $21,600 a month and leads with a guarantee of more sales-ready opportunities in ninety days. Publishes a ninety-day sales-opportunities guarantee alongside its fit rule.
Embarque · embarque.io · checked 2 Sep 2026 SaaS, marketplaces, job boards. The lowest published entry price we found among well-known shops: tiers from $1,500 a month on three, six or twelve-month terms, with a money-back guarantee.
Flying Cat Marketing · flyingcatmarketing.com · checked 2 Sep 2026 B2B SaaS, international. An $8,000 audit month before a retainer, a published four-week onboarding process, and a self-qualifying fit page before you can request a proposal. Also the clearest public statement we found that GEO and SEO should not be separate strategies.
Draft.dev · draft.dev · checked 16 Sep 2026 Developer-tool content marketing. Publishes a floor, from $9,000 a month on a three-month minimum, and a large roster of technical writers. The right call if your gap is volume of technical content, not visibility.
HashTAGit · hashtagit.in · checked 16 Sep 2026 Healthcare digital marketing in India. Hospital case studies, hospital client logos, and third-party awards rather than self-issued ones. A reasonable first call for a hospital group that wants a larger team than one.
Relay · we-relay.studio · this page One person, one team, one dashboard. SEO and AI search and paid campaigns at the core; web, social and creative around them. Works with any business whose customers search before they buy, from clinics and hotels to D2C brands, coaching institutes and showrooms, and with 2–20 person technical teams with a working product and no marketing hire. A poor fit for a ranking guarantee, a ninety-day revenue promise, link building as the main service, or an enterprise procurement process. The differentiator is transparency: a client dashboard you can open any hour, a written update every week, a source under every number, seven runs per prompt, a band never a score. No case studies yet, and says so. Month-to-month, fifteen days' notice, month four free if the agreed numbers have not moved by the end of month three. Prices said once, on the call.
On self-ranking lists.
Some of the agencies above publish a "best GEO agencies" page. Ask any agency you are evaluating whether it has one, and see who is first on it. Read those pages as advertising with a methodology section, which some of them have. We do not publish one; we published this instead.
